Plainfield Township is offering their first Pumpkin Smash event on Sat, Nov 4, 2023 from 9am to Noon and everyone is welcome to attend. Bring a "clean" pumpkin, gourd or squash for some family fun. Participants will take turns tossing their jack-o-lanterns in the air and watching them smash into small pieces that will be taken to be composted, returning all those nutrients to the Earth.

Will County and Lewis University have partnered to offer the 7th annual Will County collection of pumpkins for recycling. From 9am to Noon on Saturday, Nov. 4, students, parents, and residents are encouraged to bring their pumpkins and gourds! Lewis Physics Club will be operating Catapults! The Farm Bureau and Unv of IL Ext office will be offering composting info and Document Destruction service will also be offered. Electronics recycling will also be offered.
