Medication Collection with State Rep Natalie Manley

11:00 AM - 02:00 PM

Rep Manley promotes the proper disposal of medications at Basinger's Pharmacy on Essington Road from 11am-2pm on Saturday, Sept. 28. If you have unwanted medications in your home, including pet medications, please bring them to this event held with assistance from Will County, the IEPA and Joliet Police Department.

Traces of medications have been found in 80% of fresh water sources tested by the USGS. These medications have impacted the health of fish and since 2007, the USEPA, IllinoisEPA and Will County have promoted the safe collection of these medications.  Occassionally unwanted medications become a safety risk to young children, seniors and teens. Joliet's Police Department and the Basinger Pharmacies have become active in collecting medications to protect our community. Illinois State Representative Natalie Manley is also working to protect citizens, by organizing a collection event on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 11am to 2pm at Basinger's Pharmacy, located in Joliet at 2202 Essington Road. Both over-the-counter and prescription medications will be accepted, these include unwanted or expired vitamins, suppliments, skin lotions, sun screens and pet medications.  For more information call Rep. Manley at 815-725-2741

Basinger's Pharmacy is a proud partner in the IEPA and Will County Medication Take-Back program. The pharmacy on Essington offers medication take-back Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm.
