Safety & America Recycles Day Event

Visit with elected officials, bring unwanted medications and electronic devices for proper disposal and recylcing. Shred unwanted confidential materials. Information and safety handouts will be available.
Rep Jack McGuire, Senator A.J. Wilhelmi and County Executive Walsh are offering a community Safety and Recycling Event in Elwood on America Recycles Day.
11am – Noon: Pam Moore from Attorney General’s Office Lisa Madigan will give a presentation on protecting yourself from scams. Discussed will be the 2011 fraud alerts and much more on how to protect yourself.
Noon – 1pm:In the Community Room have refreshments and visit with Senator A.J. Wilhelmi, Rep. Jack McGuire, County Executive Larry Walsh and Mayor Bill Offerman.
11am - 3pm: Electronics and Medication “Take Back” hosted by Will County Land Use. Remember it is National “America Recycles Day”.
11am - 3pm: Locked Shred bins will be on-site hosted by the Elwood Fire Department. Protect yourself from identity theft and fire hazards. Bring a box of old documents/mail/canceled checks that you don’t need any more and get them shredded. Shred truck will arrive at end of day to destroy documents.
11am - 2pm: Cash Dash hosted by State Treasurer Dan Rutherford. Check to see if the State is holding your or a member of your family’s unclaimed assets.
