Retrofit Projects for Energy Efficiency

Will County has undertaken a number of retrofit projects to improve the energy efficiency of a variety of buildings. The obvious advantage of these projects is that they pay dividends for the life of the building.  The rate of return is high since the investment is grant based. However, Will County has made many other smaller scale improvements over the years using annual maintenance funds. Businesses, schools and other units of local government should consider investments in their buildings using grants, tax incentives or performance based contracts, in addition to their annual maintenance budget accounts.
