Business Outreach Program

Will County has a long history of encouraging businesses to recycle. With the recent EECBG funds, the Resource Recovery and Energy Division has expanded this mission to provide examples of energy efficiency improvements and water conservation options along with waste reduction, reuse and recycling practices. 

One of the purposes of this website is to provide business owners, landlords, non-profits, school and local government facility managers with local examples of cost effective ways to "green" their buildings.  On the Initiatives Page, there is a listing for each of the buildings Will County has improved over the past year or is currently improving.  The costs of the projects, along with the projected utility and maintenance savings are presented.

Will County welcomes businesses to join our Green Business Heroes program, formerly known as Recycling Works, but newly expanded to allow businesses to share their efforts with others.  It is only through learning about the many options available that a business may make the best choices for their circumstances.
