Composting in the Classroom
Vermi-composting (worm composting) is an excellent way to introduce students to composting and soil conservation. Since the 2011-2012 school year, Will County provided the materials needed for a teacher to begin composting with the students in the classroom. Find out more about the program and how you can become involved.

Take a look at a great presentation from the Godley Park District, which received a worm bin in the 2010-11 school year. This presentation shows how worm composting can be used to fulfill a wide range of Illinois learning standards. This demonstrates how a fun project can be a great learning experience.
