Holiday lights that are no longer working may be dropped off for recycling at three County locations from December 1, 2024 through January 31, 2025 during normal business hours. Channahon Library is a new partner this year..Please be aware that we are accepting string lights ONLY. No stand alone LEDs, CFLs, or other fluorescent lights.

Have some electronics you don't need after the holidays? It's time to clean them out and recycle on Saturday, January 11 near the corner of Rt 59 and Black Road! The facility is located on Gregory Court near behind the retailers. Please enter from Vertin Blvd, to Capista Drive and make a right onto Gregory Ct.

National Battery Day is celebrated on February 18th to honor the invention of the electric battery by Alessandro Volta in 1800. It's also a day to recognize the importance of batteries in our lives and to promote safe battery storage and recycling.

Earth Hour calls on businesses, government and individuals to turn out their lights for one hour. If possible turn as many electrical devices as possible for one hour. It is a way to increase consciousness of the amount energy we use and find ways to reduce it.
