Want a way to water during a drought? Want to save money on your lawn care? Want to attract birds to your yard? Come out for an hour to learn a variety of ways to conserve and enhance your yard and resources.
Learn a variety of ways to improve your yard, save water and energy.
The "typical" landscape can easily improve water resource practices, wildlife habitat and land stewardship. The benefits of improving the environment are many including reducing your water use, infiltrating more run-off, creating more area for birds and butterflies, reducing chemical use, less lawn mowing, and controlling invasive species.
In this education program, Denise Sandoval will cover a variety of techniques for transforming your landscape, including the use of Rain Barrels, Rain Gardens, and the selection and the use of native plants.
The Conservation Foundation is a private, not-for-profit land and watershed conservation organization based in Naperville. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life by preserving open space, protecting natural lands and improving rivers and watersheds. Nearly 4,000 members and over 500 volunteers support this mission in DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will Counties.
