Spring 2023 Recyclepalooza: Hazardous Waste, Electronics, Wood, & More Collection Event

Collection of nearly all types of electronics and household chemicals, hazardous materials and liquids. Wood, Scrap Metal, Foam and Donations of clothing, books, toys, cookware. Appointments taken through Friday at 9am. There is a limit of 2 TVs per vehicle, 15 gallons of paint, and ID required. We offer service to all Will County residents and all residents of any communities partially within Will County. Volunteers needed.
Will County utilizes an appointment system to improve participants experience at our popular collection events. The system has been successful as intended, providing participants with predictable lines and smoother service. We appreciate everyone's effort to bring materials to this event, to make an appointment and adhere to their appointment time.
The appointment system closed at 9:30 Friday morning for planning purposes. If you are unable to make an appointment, pleae know that after 1:15pm we can allow participants without an appointment. AGAIN - AFTER 1:15pm we will accept participants without an appointment entering Gate 14 off Schweitzer Road, at the Joliet Route 66 Raceway. (signs will be posted)
Volunteers are NEEDED to make this event possible! Pleae volunteer a few hours.
All volunteers are able to select a shift to assist with unloading materials.

Bring unwanted electronics, household chemicals (such as oil-based paint, stains and variishes, along with oil, antifreeze, old gasoline, brake fluid, pesticides, fertilizers, cleaning products) and clothing, wood, carpet, padding, foam plastic (Styrofoam), along with scrap metal (hangers, old keys, tools, car parts, siding); items for donation include reusable clothing, books, toys, small home goods, cookware. We also work with the scouts and VFW to properly dispose of worn American Flags and the Lions Club to reuse or repurpose eyeglasses. walkers and wheelchairs.
Items NOT Accepted include: Fireworks/ Explosives, Agricultural wastes, Fire extinguishers, Ammunition (check with your local police department), Radioactive material, Institutional wastes, Controlled substances, Alkaline batteries, Business wastes, Regular garbage, Tires, Smoke/CO detectors, Medical waste/Sharps, Gas cylinders, Appliances, Dehumidifiers.
Pack your vehicle to be unloaded in the following order:
Electronics, Household Hazardous Waste, Foam Plastic (clean white or yellow Styrofoam blocks, cups, trays), Scrap Metal, Wood, Donations
