Household Hazardous Waste & Motor Oil Collection Event (08:00 AM - 03:00 PM)
Bring unwanted household chemicals such as oil-based paint, stains and variishes, along with oil, antifreeze, old gasoline, brake fluid, pesticides, fertilizers, cleaning products and more to this one-day collection event. It is free of charge for Will County residents. Mercury and most mercury containing items are accepted. Other items include: pool chemicals, recharagable batteries, lead-acid batteries, compact fluorescent lights, aerosol products and lawn chemicals.
Joliet Paper Shredding Event - Gael St (09:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
Joliet residents are invited to bring up to two boxes of personal papers and documents to observe the on-site mobile shredding process by Shred X, a local business specializing in document destruction. Residents must show proof of Joliet residency to participate in this event. Papers include: Medical records, Legal papers, Canceled checks, Bank/financial statements, Credit card statements or offers, All shredded paper will be recycled.
Recycling Extravaganza (08:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
The Woodridge Rotary Club in partnership with many community organizations will hold its 2nd Annual Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, May 14th, 2011 from 8am until 12pm at Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, 8301 S. Plainfield Spring Environmental Expo 2011 (10:00 AM - 03:00 PM)
This free event, sponsored by Engineering Resource Associates will feature a range of informative environmental education displays; vendors offering sustainable products and services; and fun games, activities and entertainment for all ages. This event is also being supported by Unilock, PSA Dewberry, and Upland Design.
